Phenomenal Perry delivers on PB promise

Runner is keen podcaster and mental health advocate

Rising MMU Sports Scholar Chris Perry was jumping for joy at this week’s latest Trafford AC meet as he smashed his personal best in the 400m hurdle heats – with an impressive time of 59.1 seconds.

Perry’s latest superstar performance came as no surprise – after a top-class wind-hit run-out in the 400m heats earlier this month preceded a promise to ‘come back stronger in different circumstances’ after a ‘tough windy course on the outside in lane 6’ that day.

By his own admission, the 400m hurdles may be the strongest aspect of Perry’s game – but the promise to rise above his self-assessed disappointment was delivered in style. A second PB in as many weeks amidst unprecedented COVID-caused confusion only cemented his status as a hot-prospect at MMU, with an outstanding level of physical and mental resilience.

Chris, is also an aspiring podcaster and mental health advocate, releasing a series of YouTube videos called ‘ThatVoiceintheCrowd’,  the latest of which linked below, discussing his and many other stories surrounding the issue within society today.
