Night of Chaos: Two men rushed to hospital after being hit by buses in Manchester City Centre.

Police shut off Princess Street and Portland Street last night after two men were involved in two separate road accidents.

Emergency services transported a 54-year-old man to the hospital with serious head injuries following the collision on Portland Street around 11:30 pm last night.

At a nearby location, another man in his 40s suffered severe leg injuries when struck by a different bus at approximately 1 am.

“It was chaos.”

Will, 25, who witnessed the scene, said: “We were walking home from a night out when multiple police cars and ambulance swarmed the area.”

“Portland Street was closed off, then we turned the corner, and there was another accident on Princess Street. It was chaos,” He said.

Will said: “We saw someone under a blanket being treated by paramedics; then they brought out a stretcher.”
