Help Celebrate Manchester’s Independent Music

An opportunity is being offered to Manchester independent bands and solo artists to professionally record music.

Antwerp Mansion in Rusholme plans to launch The Sessions of March for the second year running following a Kickstarter initiative celebrate the thriving independent music scene in the city.

With an MA in Photography from Manchester School of Art, Kris Extance gained immense praise for his work documenting his time as general manager of Antwerp Mansion in the first of The Sessions of March in 2015.

The music and arts venue hosted 26 acts last year, and Kris aims to launch an even more ambitious line up of sessions this March.

Kris said: “Unique collaborations took place on almost a daily basis. Every act has gained not just a heightened sense of community, but also professional quality videos and recordings of their performances at no cost to them.”

With more than 30 bands and solo artists already signed up including The Mouse Outfit, Buffalo Brothers, The Age of Glass, Lauren Housley and Paddy Steer. Many have donated items for use as incentives to help make sure that The Sessions of March continue.
