Oh Thursday afternoon, Man Met students paid a loving tribute to those who lost their lives in Monday’s attacks. Man Met held their annual sports awards ball on Wednesday evening and students spent Thursday celebrating their sporting success.
During the celebrations, organisers decided to hold a tribute in front of hundreds who were in attendance at 256, Fallowfield. 22 balloons were released as a show of remembrance for those who tragically lost their lives.
Students in Manchester wanted to pay their respects to those that were tragically killed at Manchester Arena on Monday.
One organiser from TBBT Ella Maddox, a 2nd year student at Man Met, said: “The tragedy being so close to home, all the lives that were lost, it really affected us.
“As students, we’ve moved to this city to grow as people and fulfil our aspirations and we extremely saddened for those who lost their life.
“We wanted to release 22 balloons into the sky as a tribute to those who lost their lives.
“We want to say thank you for making Manchester beautiful. We are all Manchester and we stand together.”
Profits from tonight’s TBBT event at Koh Tao will be donated to the We Love Manchester fund.
