Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-0 Burnley
-
Mourinho sent to the stands at half thalf-timeis side’s poor form in the league continues following 0-0 draw at home to Burnley.
This was a game United should have won emphatically; they created chance after chance but could not find a way past Burnely's excellent keeper, Tom Heaton.
Despite Heaton’s heroics, Man Utd were guilty of spurning many guilt-edge chances, with many of those falling to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede has now gone six games without scoring, his longest scoring drought since his time at Inter Milan in 2007.
Even with Herrera’s sending off on the 68th minute, United continued to monopolise possession and exerted their dominance on Burnley. However, they somehow failed to score in spite of having 37 shots at goal.
Player Ratings
Man Utd
D. De Gea (6) – Like Wednesday night had very little to do.
M. Darmian (6) – Deputised for the injured Valencia and impressed in the Ecuadorian’s absence – good at the back and defended well, could have earned his side a penalty.
D. Blind (6) – Dealt well with the danger of Gray and Vokes – his delivery from set pieces was good.
M. Rojo (6) – Built on his performance from Wednesday – looked solid once again.
L. Shaw (7) – Made some instrumental contributions at the back, his most significant was stopping Gray who was running through onto goal.
A. Herrera (7) – A driving force in the United midfield, was a growing influence on proceedings until his sending off at 60mins.
P. Pogba (8) – Played in a deeper role than the last game and was instrumental in everything good. If Ibrahimovic had his shooting boots on the Frenchman could have had 3 or 4 assists.
Juan Mata (8) – Another standout performance from the Spaniard, who did everything but score his quick incisive passing carved open Burnley on numerous occasions. Saw his effort hit the post.
J. Lingard (5) – Worked well for his side and came close on with a few efforts but needed to be more consistent in the final third.
M. Rashford (6) – Was his usual bright self in attack and linked up well with Mata and Ibrahimovic. Caused Lowton problems all game.
Z. Ibrahimovic (7) – The big Swede did everything but put the ball into the back of the net – he linked up very well with his teammates and on another day could have easily bagged himself a hat-trick.

M. Fellaini (5) – Provided an aerial presence in the latter stage of the match but was unable to help his side seal the win.

M. Lowton (5) – Did well against a dangerous Rashford, manage to limit crosses from the left hand side until the latter stages of the match.

S. Vokes (5) – Service to him was non-existent and never posed a threat to the United defence.
A. Gray (7) – Gray’s pace caused United all sorts of problems at the back, however he didn’t last the whole 90mins – it was the striker’s first game since his four match suspension.
Subs
