LIVE: Manchester Local Elections 2021
- Super Thursday was the biggest election since the general election in 2019
- Voters in Manchester were choosing a third of councillors across all wards and the Mayor of Greater Manchester
- Counting starts at 2pm on Friday for councillors but we have to wait until Saturday for the winner of the Mayoral election to be declared
- NQ reports live as the results are announced
Election results for councillors, mayors, the Scottish parliament and Welsh Senedd are slowly coming in from across the country. Social distancing rules mean that counting isn’t as intensive as it normally is and some results won’t be known until next week.
However, we already know that Labour has lost its former stronghold in Hartlepool in the North East to the Tories in the only by-election held yesterday.
From about 1.30pm today, the NQ team of reporters will bring you the results of the Manchester council elections LIVE and we’ll keep you up-to-date with what’s happening in other parts of the country.
