It has been a long time coming for Manchester United to finally win a trophy after a nine-year stalemate.
But victory was sealed when United played Newcastle United at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday (26 February).
It was a shaky start as Newcastle dominated possession but that did not stop Manchester United from trenching forward as Casemiro scored the opener from Luke Shaw’s free kick at 33rd minute.
With Newcastle trailing it took six minutes for Manchester United to score the second goal which was scored Marcus Rashford assisted by Wout Weghorst. Marcus Rashford has been on top form this season with 25 goals under his belt.
United secured the victory as Carabao Cup winners 2023, which means they have won six EFL cups.
Ever since Erik Ten Haag and his team are filled with joy as they have waited for this moment for a long time.
