Man Utd director Ed Glazer helped Donald Trump into the White House
Manchester United Director, Edward Glazer, backed Donald Trump’s successful Presidential campaign.
Ed Glazer was among many high profile individuals who financially backed the Republican candidate, with the Red Devil’s director donating $45,000 to the President-elect Trump’s campaign.
Donald Trump triumphed over Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton, whom Glazer also donated $4,360 to, a significantly smaller sum than Trump.
The Glazer family have been contentious figures amongst Manchester United supporters since they became majority shareholders in 2005 and news of the donation will probably do little to improve the fractious relationship.
Interestingly, Liverpool chairman and owner of the Boston Red Sox baseball franchise, Tom Werner, gave $2,175 to Hilary Clinton’s camp.
Despite parting with thousands of dollars for Trump’s campaign, Ed Glazer’s sum was dwarfed by the contributions from donors such as Sheldon Adelson the casino magnate, and Robert Mercer the CEO of Renaissance Technologies, gave $47.4 and $23.5 million respectively.
