Byelection in Manchester’s Ancoats and Beswick ward
- Byelection to fill Marcia Hutinson's position after her resignation last year
A council byelection will be held tomorrow for Manchester’s Ancoats and Beswick ward.
The election was called after the resignation of Marcia Hutchinson last year.
She won her seat last May with a majority of 1,273 votes, 58% of the total votes that were submitted in the ward.
Standing are:
- Alexander Bramham, standing for the Conservative party
- Alan Good, standing for the Liberal Democrats
- Chris Perriam, standing for for the Green party
- Gareth Worthington, standing for the Labour party
The polling hours will be from 7am until 10pm. Residents must be registered to vote before they arrive at polling stations.
Results will be announced after they are counted, later tomorrow evening.
Councillor Rosa Battle and Councillor Majid Dar are existing councillors for the ward.
