MMU student launches campaign to raise awareness of animal cruelty
- NQ officially launched its #GimmeShelter campaign today
- Led by NQ reporter Daragh Mather, the campaign aims to highlight the importance of rescuing an animal over buying from a breeder
In the Lancashire area, 59 reports of animal cruelty were reported within the last year, #GimmeShelter, aims to spread awareness of this issue and aims to highlight ways you can help.
The campaign aims to highlight the importance of rescuing an animal over buying from a breeder, it will also show all the hard work the RSPCA put into rescuing and caring for animals.
The Campaign focuses on the RSPCA Southport branch, you will be informed on what they do in day to day life and how much work and money goes into running the RSPCA branch.
The RSPCA Southport relies heavily on public donations, you will learn how to donate and how to become a volunteer to help out your local RSPCA.
This campaign's aim is to increase the number of people visiting rescue shelters and rescuing animals over buying from a breeder you only cares about money and not the animal itself.
It also aims to increase the number of people that donate and help out at their local rescue shelter, especially as the number of animals, particularly cats being abandoned is increasing.
