MMU students and staff taking part in the Great Manchester run being offered VIP packages
- Man Met runners save up to £49
- Run takes place on 22 May
- Volunteers can choose between 10k run or half-marathon
A charity is offering Man Met fundraisers free tickets for the the Great Manchester run.
Anyone who signs up will raise money for We Love MCR charity.
The annual run take places 22 May and the charity is aiming to raise as much money as possible for young people in Manchester.
Volunteers have choice of running the 10k or the half marathon, with tickets costing £42 and £49 respectively.
The route takes in iconic Mancunian landmarks such as Old Trafford, the Imperial war Museum and Salford Quays, with half marathon runners also having the Etihad stadium on their route.
We Love MCR is offering a special package to MMU volunteers.
Development manager Ged Carter said: “If you’ve ever been to the Great Manchester Run before, you’ll know that access for runners to toilets, secure bag storage and refreshments can involve long queues.
“Our VIP package provides the perfect solution, and saves you up to £49.”
Part of the package includes access to the town hall extension, which is separate from the usual bag drop-off and toilet areas.
