Emma Kirke becomes the first ever female to appear in a Physical Disability Rugby League game in the UK
Warrington Wolves hosted Wakefield Trinity in both side’s second ever competitive PDRL match.
The game took place at Warrington’s home ground, the Halliwell Jones Stadium, prior to the club’s Challenge Cup fixture against Toronto Wolfpack.
Emma Kirke took to the field for Wakefield. She is the first ever female player to take part in the sport outside of Australia and received well wishes from the sport’s creator.
The match was a very tight affair until Warrington winger Tony Seward danced beyond the Trinity line twice to make the score line 26-14, whilst taking his personal try tally to four for the day.
A return fixture between the sides has been scheduled for the end of May.
