Neighbourhood in Stockport sees multiple arrests after crime crackdown takes £200k of heroin off streets
A neighbourhood policing operation in Stockport has resulted in two kilograms of heroin with a street value of around £200,000 being seized.
As part GMP’s crackdown on crime in Brinnington £17,000 in suspected illicit cash was seized and 12 bladed articles were also recovered.
Thousands of pounds worth of cannabis has been taken off the streets, in addition to 12 vehicles, including two e-bikes.
The operation has already seen multiple arrests and the seizure of illegal drugs.
The operation aimed to tackle a range of illegal activities, including the supply of drugs, anti-social behaviour and driving offences.

In the past four years, there has been 500 fewer burglary victims each month, with arrests doubling to more than 70,000 a year, say police.
In the past two weeks police have been patrolling the streets of Brinnington and made 15 arrests for multiple offences including intent to supply, dangerous driving and weapon offences.
GMP crime teams have also been deployed to hotspot areas known for links to knife crime.
Chief inspector Clare Ryle, from GMP’s Stockport neighbourhood team said: “The work in Brinnington is the definition of what neighbourhood work looks like.
“By gathering intelligence through this action, we can continue to put officers and resources where needed and ultimately provide the best police service for the people of Brinnington”
GMP recently carried out a survey within residents asking what more they wanted to see from GMP and where they wanted the most action to be taken.
