George Baldock, former Sheffield United footballer, tragically found dead at 31

Tragic news has shocked the footballing world after ex-Premier League defender George Baldock was found dead in his Athens home on Wednesday evening at the age of just 31.
According to Greek reports, the former Sheffield United star was found unresponsive in his pool and was declared dead at the scene.
Baldock had just completed a move to Greek giants Panathinaikos this summer after seven years at Sheffield United. He had also recently switched his international allegiance to the 2004 Euros champions as he had a Greek grandmother.
He had made 12 appearances for the Greek national team since declaring for the nation in 2022.
A minute’s silence was held during the international fixture with England playing Greece at Wembley Stadium last night.
Black armbands were worn by both sides as well with many in the England Squad.
