Manchester Police Museum recognised as ‘Hidden Gem’ by tourism bosses

  • Ranked one of best in country by Visit England

Greater Manchester Police Museum has been recognised as a ‘Hidden Gem’ by Visit England for ‘going the extra mile’.

The museum was founded in 1981  and contains records such as  personnel service records for police officers, and manuals and handbooks relating to police work. Visitors can access the archive by appointment.

Museum curator Duncan Broady said: “We are thrilled with this recognition and hope it tempts more visitors to come and experience the history of the police force over the years.”

The attraction hosts special themed open days during the school holidays, and is open every Tuesday from 10.30-3.30pm.
