Manchester Metropolitan Men's Water Polo team have been the runaway success of this year's BUCS North League, but what's the secret of their success?

Following the team's fourth consecutive league title win, which secured them a bye into the next round of the BUCS National League playoffs, Northern Quota met Head of Performance Sport at Manchester Metropolitan University, Jérôme Read to find out.

Jérôme has a strong personal history with the sport. In 2002 he was part of the winning team to take home a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Water Polo Tournament and later head coach for the British team ahead of the 2012 London Olympics.

His current role at Manchester Metropolitan involves an ambitious vision for student athletes. He tells Northern Quota reporter, Terel Edmunds how focused recruitment has helped ensure the BUCS 2019 Team of the Year's current dominance:
