MMU Festival of Sports Journalism to be held in Geoffrey Manton tomorrow morning

  • Event will showcase films made by journalism students about sport at the University

The first MMU Festival of Sports Journalism will be held tomorrow morning in the Geoffrey Manton building.

The event will take place at 10am in Lecture Theatre six and will be showcasing films made by journalism students featuring the sports department.

Head of Deparment Derek Bousfield will open the event, and there will be excerpts of work from live radio show Pitchside from Platt Lane and the output of the MMU TV studio.

There will also be the chance to hear from student and women’s rugby captain Amy Clarke, who suffered a terrible knee injury and was the subject of a film by Stephen Haydock which scored the highest mark in the class. Both Amy and Stephen will be in attendence.
