Things to do this week if you are in self-isolation

  • Many students are self-isolating in their halls of residence to reduce the spread of coronavirus
  • There are still lots of things to do this week which are available online and from the comfort of your own home

Hogwarts digital escape room

We all need a bit of escapism right now. Created by an American librarian, Harry Potter fans can enjoy this free magical escape room, without leaving your sofa.

As a first-year, you get sorted into your school houses by the sorting hat, and then onto the wizarding adventure. A mixture of team-building exercises, trivia questions to answer and puzzles to solve that will test your Muggle knowledge.

You can complete this escape room as an individual player or in a team. Try your best to escape here.

Get your theatre fix

While Coronavirus has kept our theatres closed, producers and companies have been finding ways to share their work.

If you are a Disney lover, then you’ll be pleased to hear that the Disney Cruise Line has shared their live stage show of Tangled: The Musical.

If you are into your more serious shows, you can enjoy the award winning, first all women of colour Shakespeare on a UK stage – from the 2019 Globe Season.

The Manchester International Festival has put full performances, Q&As and lots of content online for free.

Opera North is streaming its production of the hit Bernstein opera for a whole month on its YouTube channel.

For something a little more theatrical and has the wow-factor, check out the Cirque du Soleil’s free selection of acrobatic show on YouTube.
