Pink’s New Album ‘Beautiful Trauma’ Debuts at NO. 1

It seems rockstar Pink just can’t go wrong this year after her new album debuts at number one in the UK.

The album release comes after her touching VMA speech about her daughter and how she thought she wasn’t pretty, that she looked like a boy. It highlighted the issues surrounding body image in society today and, of course, it was the most kick-ass speech you’ll have heard this year.

In it Pink told her daughter: “So, baby girl. We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.”

Pink fan since the beginning, Nicola Carter, aged 24 said of the speech: “It was one of the most resonating things she’s said for me personally.

“We all struggle sometimes and I admire Pink because she is honest about struggling too. She’s real, in every sense of the word. And you can feel that in What About Us. She’s just trying to figure everything out just like the rest of us.”

Her seventh studio album ‘Beautiful Trauma’ truly is a pearl. With help from Eminem and Max Martin, amongst others, Pink has created yet another album that is full to brim with bouts of comedy, inspiration and despair. She continues to go from strength to strength in the music industry. It would seem there isn’t a person in the world that doesn’t love one or two Pink songs, if not more.

As always the album is peppered with personal clips that show up mainly in the title track of the album. Lines like ‘I slashed your tyres’ and ‘You punched a hole in the wall and I framed it’ only need a little googling to know they are a reference to her relationship with husband Carey Hart.

Its safe to say the pair have had a rough time of it over the years with their on and off, hurricane relationship. The trials and tribulations of it all show up along the way in Pink’s back catalogue. It seems she’s used her music to work through the troubled times and, hey, we’ve all loved it so why not.

Pink’s success speaks for itself. With 15 top 10 hits and 5 multi-platinum-certified albums, she is  definitely showing her daughter that even if society tells you don’t look feminine enough, you will still triumph over everything and can become one of the most iconic pop stars of the 21st century.
