Our Mission

I bet nearly everyone you know owns a mobile phone… right? High chances are that you are reading this on your phone?

Being anti-social in person has become the new ‘normal’ as we are more interested in what’s going on online that what is happening  around us.

Today we are launching the #Lookup Campaign in hope to get people off their phones and connecting with those around them.

A recent report from OFCOM found that people claim to spend, on average, 24 hours each week online. This is almost double the amount of time in 2007 (12 hours) and the numbers are only going to increase with time. More and more people are spending more of their time consumed by their phones, rather than connecting with the people around them.

Here at #Lookup we are aiming to raise awareness in people, both young and old, of the the problems and downfalls that come with excessive phone usage. We hope our campaign will make people think and even change their ways in how they use their phone in their day-to-day lives.

We are now in the “Decade of digital dependency” where people in the UK now check their smartphones, on average, every 12 minutes of the waking day.

Help us to get people to #Lookup and reduce your phone time and sign the petition, let’s pledge to reduce our phone time by an hour a week.

Your small change can make a BIG difference
