Performances include Fram & Dunt, an hour-long circus inspired special featuring a father and daughter performing in a way they always dreamed of and the Hidden Pin Up, a dance and spoken word performance exploring the fetishisation of the black female body as well as many others exploring challenging themes or providing feel-good entertainment and often both.

Film events include the Film Hub North Filmmaker Award Showcase, a selection of six short films promoting new northern filmmakers and Push Virtual Reality Cinema, a VR experience showing a number of different ways to employ the technology to tell stories.

Exhibitions include Distorted Constellations, and immersive sensory experience showing the artist’s interpretation of the rare neurological disorder, virtual snow and Time To Be, a collection of works curated by St Luke’s Art Project, who work with people isolated due to mental health conditions.

If you have a love for independent art, performance and cinema, Manchester is certainly the place to be, other film festivals, pop up galleries and performances appear in the city all year round and PUSH is a great way to kick the calendar off!
