Manchester City bullet point their record breaking season with a bus parade through Manchester

  • Pep Guardiola's side reached a record 100 Premier League points.
  • Thousand of 'Cityzens' lined the streets to applaud their heroes.

Manchester City took part in an open top bus ride through the city following Gabriel Jesus’s incredible late winner against Southampton on Sunday.

They pushed Manchester City to a record tally of 100 points in the Premier League. The feat has never been achieved before in the Premier League and comparisons to Arsenal’s invincible season are being made by both set of fans.

City also broke the record for the most goals (106), the highest goal difference (+79) and the most victories in a single season (32). Central midfielder also Phil Foden broke a record by becoming the youngest player ever to get their hands on a Premier League winners medal.

The bus parade on Monday evening saw players travel from the National Football Museum to a raised stage on Deansgate, allowing thousands of fans to applaud their heroes along the way.

Fans were delighted to see the players show off the Premier League trophy, which was finally sealed with West Brom’s 1-0 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 15.

It was an unconventional way of securing the trophy but fans relished  the triumph nonetheless.

Fans are now looking forward to next season and are hoping City make more improvements to their squad in order to mount a challenge for the Champions League trophy.
