As VMFC is celebrating its 20th Anniversary, The NQ went down to one of their training sessions to find out what the club is about, and whether they have faced any discrimination whilst playing.

The 1st team plays in a straight league (one of only two gay teams to play in straight leagues in the UK), while the 2nd team plays in a gay league.

Players are not exclusively gay, as the team also welcomes in players who are straight and are gay-friendly.

The Premier League last weekend threw its support behind Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces initiative as part of their wider push to encourage diversity within its stadiums, but does this trickle down to non-leagues?
