Poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy to host events in Manchester celebrating iconic writers

Poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy is taking centre stage at a series of special literary events staged by Manchester Writing School.
Carol Ann Duffy's People's Poetry Lectures will see the professor of poetry at Man Met appear alongside other leading writers to talk about their favourite poets.
The first talk will be on Dylan Thomas and is hosted by Gillian Clarke, seen as one of the UK’s most revered poets. Clarke was awarded the Queen’s Gold medal for poetry in 2010 and won the Wilfred Owen award back in 2012.
Clarke was born in Cardiff and held the title of Wales’ National Poet from 2008 to 2016.
The event is being held at the Principal Hotel in Manchester on 24 July at 7pm.
