Manchester mosques should be safe spaces, says youth worker

The Northern Quota spoke to Ismael Lea South, founder of the Salam Project, a community initiative which focuses on challenging gang crime, youth unemployment, extremism and radicalisation in the inner city. 

Ismael and the Salam Project have more than 12 years grassroots experience in counter-extremism and de-radicalisation work around the UK. Their latest project is based in Moss Side, with their Truth vs Terrorism campaign, which aims to deliver workshops on jihadist and extremism/radicalisation awareness.
