Incoming Festival 2019 line-up announced by Home promises a ‘radical shake-up’

  • The festival boasts a 'radical shakeup' of the programming model
  • Line-up includes returning favourites Sh!t Theatre, Police Cops and Lost Watch
  • Newcomers include Wildcard with their sell-out show Electrolyte

The line-up for this year’s Incoming Festival at Home in Manchester has been announced. 

The festival will be presented simultaneously in London’s New Diorama Theatre and Bristol’s Tobacco Factory theatre as well as at Home.

In a shake-up of the programme, the festival invited theatre critic Lyn Gardner, Fergus Morgan of The Stage, the editorial team of Exeunt magazine and Critics of Colour to select shows they would like to psee.

The festival features emerging companies from across the UK and Ireland including: Strictly Arts Theatre Company with award-winning Fringe hit Freeman by Camilla Whitehill.

Also set to perform are Dublin-based Malaprop with their Edinburgh hit Everything Not Saved, The Pappyshow present their new follow-up show Girls, following sell-out runs at Vault Festival and New Diorama Theatre for their show Boys.

Newcomers include Wildcard presenting their sell-out Edinburgh Fringe gig-theatre show Electrolyte.

New Diorama Theatre producer, Helen Matravers, said: “This year’s Incoming couldn’t be more exciting. For the first time in the festival’s history, we have worked with some of the country’s leading voices in theatre to curate this incredible line-up.

“Their invaluable input meant that we were able to see and get feedback on more shows and companies than ever before, helping NDT and A Younger Theatre to curate a festival which showcases truly exceptional talent.”

Returning favourites to the festival include multi-award winning Sh!t Theatre with their new show Sh!t Theatre Drink Rum with Expats and Police Cops, following a world tour of their show Police Cops In Space present their new show black comedy Badass Be Thy Name, a gritty drama that turns into a vampire-slaying horror epic.

Lost Watch also return following their sell-out Left My Desk with their new show Socks and Shorts Included.

As well as the amazing line-up of emerging companies, as series of workshops by some of the best theatre companies will be presented – all acccessible at £3.
