Jess Glynne graces the Albert Hall with a stunning performance in free show for fans

  • Singer plays free show for lucky fans at the Albert Hall
  • Performs new single 'All I Am'

‘All I am’ singer Jess Glynne performed an intimate set for more1,000 lucky fans at Manchester’s Albert Hall

The free show saw her perform her 2015 pop classics and her new single.

The Grade II listed Albert Hall is a former Methodist church hall. Its stage is flanked by an organ, a balcony and two walls of industrial stained glass windows, giving her devout fans a healthy glow as the last of the days sunshine shined through.

She started off the show with the classic ‘Ain’t Got Far to Go‘ wearing her trademark sporty look. Her neon blue baggy tracksuit was matched with a black kimono and  styled glasses. The style highlight, though, had to be her wondrous waist-long ginger curls.

Glynne and her three backing singers’ powerful vocals filled the venue to much applause from the excited congregation. Dancing along were a mix of teens, super-fans singing every word and even a member of the love island cast.

She praised her fans stating:

“I always love performing in Manchester, the crowds always so loud and they always give me life”

She went on to sing her boppy collaboration with Clean Bandit Rather Be, followed by I’ll Be There and the slow ballad Take Me Home. This led to my personal favourite of the show which was the performance of her newest single, All I Am.

This is her second single from the upcoming album, Always Inbetween, which is set to be released later this year. The song is a fun and charming with the accompanying music video exploring themes such as unity and friendship.

This was mirrored in the audience with two friends at the front singing away arm in arm throughout the song. The vocals remained strong and the shows intimate vibes defied the need for backing dancers. The show was closed with a fun performance of Hold my Hand

The intimate nature of the venue made for a real treat, and there was a positive buzz as the audience left the venue. The fact they got this experience for free was an added bonus.

Jess Glynne has proved herself to be a master of pop and I am looking forward to seeing what her new album has to offer. If pop music and catchy tunes are your things then I would definitely check her out.
